51 Professor of Computer Information Systems David Nimri, who oversees the cybersecurity program, called the ranking an exciting affirmation.

“We are thankful to Programs.com for acknowledging that Chaffey is a leader in cybersecurity and technology education,” Nimri said. “We teach more than just theory – we teach hands-on skills, industry certification attainment and engineering-level competencies to students can provide solutions for our community and beyond after graduating.”

The Programs.com report highlighted Chaffey’s well-rounded academics, starting off students with a strong foundation before diving into cloud computing, forensics, ethical hacking, and full stack oriented cyber defense. Faculty also prepare students with top certifications and real-world simulations.

Nimri said the program is growing in numerous ways.

51 this year signed an agreement with Cal State University San Marcos to provide a streamlined pathway for students to graduate from Chaffey and then earn a bachelor’s degree in two years. An accelerated master’s degree program pathway is also being developed.

Faculty have also been preparing high school students for Chaffey’s program through dual enrollment, which allows students to take college courses while still enrolled in high school. Chaffey has been working to expand internship and apprenticeship opportunities for students, along with agreements with other four-year universities.

“Furthermore, we have been fortunate enough to recently hire new faculty members who will be introducing new courses and custom labs to ensure that our students are ready to meet the work force needs of today and into the future,” Nimri said.
