EOPS Program Services

Services:

  • Academic, career, and limited personal counseling, including through Guided Pathways
  • Priority Registration
  • Orientation to college classes (Guidance 2)
  • Assistance with college-related fees (e.g., health fee, college services fee, etc.)
  • Transportation support (e.g., parking permit, transportation fee, etc.)
  • Support with required course material (e.g., textbooks, e-books, access codes, etc.)
  • Support with educational supplies
  • Cultural awareness activities
  • Supplemental programs for single parents receiving CalWORKs assistance (CARE), foster youth, students who qualify for Assembly Bill 540 (AB 540) and complete the California Dream Act application, and an EOPS Summer Readiness Program (EOPS SRP) for recent high school graduates.

* The last day to use your EOPS Campus Store funds and pick up your start-up gas and grocery cards is Friday, November 7, 2025.
** Eligibility is contingent on maintaining course enrollment after the deadline to drop classes without a "W' grade, completing the mandatory appointments throughout your participation with EOPS, maintaining good standing according to the EOPS Mutual Responsibility Commitment (MRC), registering on priority registration day (or on your assigned date and time, whichever is applicable) for the next semester, and having sufficient Unmet Need, according to Financial Aid.   

How Do I Receive My EOPS Retention Direct Aid (DEOPS)?

EOPS Retention Direct Aid Funds (provided to students to retain program engagement and college engagement) are intended to support educational costs for students who meet the following:

  • Good standing with the EOPS program (per the EOPS Mutual Responsibility Commitment (MRC)
  • Completing the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd mandatory EOPS counseling appointments within the indicated start and end dates
  • Maintaining course enrollment after the deadline to drop classes without a "W" grade
  • Enrollment in the next semester according to your EOPS educational plan (if applicable)
  • Registering for classes on your assigned registration date and time
  • Sufficient Unmet Need, as determined by Financial Aid

Please note that your EOPS financial support will be reflected in your Chaffey College financial aid award as DEOPS - $250 EOPS Direct Aid Retention Grant. 

 

When are Benefits Distributed?

Students have access to the benefits below upon receipt of their approval notice (sent to students' Panther email accounts):

-Book Service

-Snack Account at the Campus Store, Panther Express, including Chino and Fontana Campuses
-Start-up gas card
-Start-up grocery card

E-card Incentive for Mandatory EOPS Appointments

E-card incentive is emailed to the Panther account within five (5) working days after completion of each mandatory appointment. 
Appointment timeline:
1st Appointment      August 6 - September 20
2nd Appointment    September 22 - October 31
3rd Appointment     November 3 - December 12
 

Student Fees

Paid or reimbursed by December 12, 2025 (subject to change)

Retention Grant

Released by January 16, 2026 (subject to change). Disbursements are estimated to begin at the end of the Fall semester and continue in staggered batches throughout the first two weeks of January, 2026. This timeframe of delivery is subject to change.
